As far as the being outted by Smashed Peas, you should know a few things about your ISP. Generally the address given for any ISP is the address of the provider NOT the person using the service. If your provider does post your address along with your ISP, which does happen with some providers, you want to either use a proxy server(it's easy!) or change providers. It's not just blogs like this that log your ISP, any website you visit the webmaster has the ability to see that information. Also with ISPs you should know if your ISP is static or dynamic. A static ISP is always the same. A dynamic ISP changes from day to day, hour to hour, each time you connect every few days, it varies from provider to provider. My ISP is dynamic and puts me in different states, sometimes across the country from me, almost never in the state I actually live in. For the most part knowing someones ISP gives you very little actual information about them. It might tell you what state they are in or if they are in a large metropolitan area, even the city but you can never know if that ISP is static or dynamic so trying to out people with that info alone is useless.

87 that would be me, I'm not all that computer literate. I can navigate the internet and use google rather then the peas to answer questions but I'm 46 and didn't grow up using computers. We've only had one for 8 years or so.
I did manage to install our wireless router and make it pass word protected. Quite a feat for me considering how many calls to linksys's customer service it took.
I have a vague understanding about ISP's and I have no clue whether or not my email address is connected to it or if it's a dynamic vs static.

Several years ago ds#1 refused to pick up his clothes off the floor in his room. We had many "discussions" about it, but he saw no reason to put them in the hamper. Then the cat got involved. She peed on every pile of clothes on his floor. Not on the floor, just on the clothes. He left a shopping bag on the floor for weeks. She finally got mad and peed on that, too. He doesn't miss the hamper often anymore.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago when ds#2 decided he was no longer going to clean his room. Nope. Not gonna do it. The place was an obstacle course of shirts, socks, underwear. Too lazy to hit the hamper, too lazy to put a load of clean clothes away, just pulled stuff off the top to wear to school. Lots of discussions from mom and consequences that did no good.

If your provider does post your address along with your ISP, which does happen with some providers, you want to either use a proxy server(it's easy!) or change providers. It's not just blogs like this that log your ISP, any website you visit the webmaster has the ability to see that information.
Also with ISPs you should know if your ISP is static or dynamic. A static ISP is always the same. A dynamic ISP changes from day to day, hour to hour, each time you connect every few days, it varies from provider to provider.
My ISP is dynamic and puts me in different states, sometimes across the country from me, almost never in the state I actually live in.
For the most part knowing someones ISP gives you very little actual information about them. It might tell you what state they are in or if they are in a large metropolitan area, even the city but you can never know if that ISP is static or dynamic so trying to out people with that info alone is useless.

87 that would be me, I'm not all that computer literate. I can navigate the internet and use google rather then the peas to answer questions but I'm 46 and didn't grow up using computers. We've only had one for 8 years or so.
I did manage to install our wireless router and make it pass word protected. Quite a feat for me considering how many calls to linksys's customer service it took.

Several years ago ds#1 refused to pick up his clothes off the floor in his room. We had many "discussions" about it, but he saw no reason to put them in the hamper. Then the cat got involved. She peed on every pile of clothes on his floor. Not on the floor, just on the clothes. He left a shopping bag on the floor for weeks. She finally got mad and peed on that, too. He doesn't miss the hamper often anymore.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago when ds#2 decided he was no longer going to clean his room. Nope. Not gonna do it. The place was an obstacle course of shirts, socks, underwear. Too lazy to hit the hamper, too lazy to put a load of clean clothes away, just pulled stuff off the top to wear to school. Lots of discussions from mom and consequences that did no good.
So the cat instituted her own consequence. Oh yes. Nothing like picking up a shirt for school with 2 minutes til the bus arrives and it smells like cat pee. As do all the previously clean clothes under it.

Geez, dogs bite, it's what they do. I was bitten by a dog, he had my whole hand in his mouth, a Shepherd puppy as it happens, when I was about 4 or 5. No big deal. What small children? You don't know how old those boys are. The visiting child was 5 but the other kids could be any age. I think the dad should be fined for letting an untrained dog play with small children.
Don't shelters try to make a good fit for adoptions?? If it truly is an 'untrained pack dog', that does not sound like a good family dog...i.e. a good dog for a couple with kids. That sounds like a dog for a couple with no kids at home who have lots of experience training dogs.
