The difference between 20 years ago and now, is that 20 years ago, if a kid had "anxiety" about taking medication, the parents told them to just take it, and the kid figured out how to get over it and take it. Now, if a kid even hints at "anxiety", the helicopter blades start chopping, and they go in to "protective" mom mode, and exacerbate the "anxiety" and make it worse.
And, yes, I do know that there are kids with read anxiety, but I would guess it is around 1% of the kids that parents identify as having it. The rest are just playing it up.

The difference between 20 years ago and now, is that 20 years ago, if a kid had "anxiety" about taking medication, the parents told them to just take it, and the kid figured out how to get over it and take it. Now, if a kid even hints at "anxiety", the helicopter blades start chopping, and they go in to "protective" mom mode, and exacerbate the "anxiety" and make it worse.
And, yes, I do know that there are kids with read anxiety, but I would guess it is around 1% of the kids that parents identify as having it. The rest are just playing it up.
As if the most public meltdown ever on social media and TV wasn't enough for the scandal-immersed owners of Amy's Baking Company in Scottsdale, Ariz., it now looks like Samy apparently has a criminal record and could get deported.

The brother is a perfect example of helicopter parenting gone wrong...many of the peas should take notes here...
