Jesus Fucking Christ OP!

No. You have NOT done everything you can. Your ego has really gotten in the way of common sense. Sell the fucking house and car!

It is VERY apparent that you want a bailout. You want free money without any pain. You are an idiot. You said your husband has been I'll for 2 yrs but you recently bought a car. What the hell!

Here's an idea if you want a bailout. Let the house go into foreclosure, let the car get repo'd and file for bankruptcy. Then you can go live in denial, which apparently you are very familiar and comfortable with.

I'm done with you. Idiot.

Look you angry little girl, you have misread it now twice. The vehicle was NOT bought recently LMAO. Go re read the OPs statement and quit acting like a total twat.

You're the idiot, read 149 (also the OP). You are off your meds or something!

Make a call to your local gvt social services agency and get some referrals and/or contact information for outside agencies that help the down and out.

Social workers usually have that kind of information at their fingertips.

187 the comment was to THAT poster. I see fund raisers as a good community thing when someone is in need. People like that commenter don't go though.

Anonymous said...

187Anonymous said... 187 You say you don't want anyone to dig into their pockets for you yet you want to do a fundraiser. Isn't a fundraiser a glorified way of asking people to dig into their pockets for you? Just because you want it to go directly to the bank to pay off your truck doesn't make it any less of a handout.
Why can't you leave your DH for a few hours? Surely you can schedule his appointments to work around a part time job. Have you thought of working evenings and hiring someone to check on your DH periodically while you work? I have a quadrapalegic friend who stays alone while his wife works during the day and they manage.
If you keep doing what you're doing now you're going to get the same results as you have been and that's clearly not working for you.

June 28, 2012 1:49 PM

My husband is not a quadrapalegic, I am terribly sorry for your friends. He doesn't use a catheter (or the other bags) so it's a different situation. From us, to your friends situation, very different. I understand how it would be possible though if it were our situation.

Some people are suggesting paying someone to come in. That's more money out. It's a vicious cycle.

I think I'm done here for the night. I can't make the "mean chicks" lighten up and I can usually take a bunch of shit but I need a break for now. Thanks again.

Uh, its moot. Not mute.

#199, it is NOT a fucking "mute" point. The "point" can't talk and therefore it cannot be mute. It's a MOOT point. Buncha fuckin' morans here

6? from what thread? link? from what post here? #?

199Anonymous said... 199 I will say I was a bit confused on the car issue but it is a mute point... you need help and need a place to turn. I am not sure fundraising is a viable option... usually with fundraisers there is some huge issue, such as a very sick child, war veteran, etc that the community rallies for. I am not sure what your husband illness is or what caused it (if anything) but your local charities might be able to help you better than looking for a fund raiser..... many churches have a ton of resources that may be able to assist you even if you aren't a member.

Unfortuantely however you worded your first inquiry it was taken as looking for a "way out" and I feel that wasn't your intent, just an option and how to go about it. Yes, Karma can be a bitch, but in the end, good things come to those who help themselves...

Take a look around your community... if your husband has an illness, look to support groups there, I am sure there are people in your shoes that might be able to either help with care or other means of support...

I am sorry you are going thru this...

Ooooh this is good! Get Lynloon on it, stat:

"Later this afternoon, it’s going to come out that Roberts was coerced. A Secret Service agent overheard Obama and Axelrod discussing the Roberts blackmail. He managed to get them on tape discussing it. Later this afternoon, the whole story will come out, Roberts will issue his REAL opinion, and Obama and Axelrod will be taken away in handcuffs."

LMAO. (hint) I'm sure they'll find the Roberts Tape right next to the Michelle Obama Whitey Tape.

Why do you think, disabled husbands wife, that you are entitled to ask strangers to pay off your truck? Sell it..then buy a decent used older model car! I drive a 9yr old vehicle with 152K miles on it..it's rusted in spots but it still gets me from point A to B. Only left stranded once when the transmission blew a few yrs ago. Repairs are STILL cheaper than a car payment

Haha, I remember Skybar *swearing* that the Whitey tape existed all through Oct 2008. As did Sylvidiot. It was going to come out any day, ANY DAY NOW!

There have been several incarnations of the flacksmackcrackjack blog over the years. I've visited twice.

On June 17 I was noted because apparently someone or rather two someones were "shocked" that I enjoy shopping at Crate & Barrel, because of my love for shopping cheap that is well documented on the yard sale and thrift store threads here. I find that hilariously funny...and kindof indicative of how little some folks know.

Because I am a frugal, careful, thrift-store lovin' shopper for some things, I can afford to indulge at C&B when I want to. There's room for both in my life. I like it that way.

I would never have known or cared but I get an alert from google when my blog gets mentioned somewhere and apparently there are a bunch of peas reading the anon blog because the hits from there to my blog were quite numerous.

I don't find it to be nearly as fun as the original peas.

THIS IS A LIE! It was not hyperlinked. It would have HAD to have been copied and pasted to view it. Are you ladies stupid enough to paste it from this window? That might link it from coming from here but I don't know. I think she LIES LOL

I personally don't find the blog hilarious, like I said before I googled my name to find a thread here and it showed my user name in one of the top results so ya I read that one comment we're there others probably so I didn't look. I guess they don't have anything better to do.

Also a liar! I just googled her user name and there's a shit load of stuff that don't even pertain to her. It's not a unique user name.

Disabled wife, in my small town those community fundraisers are generally put on by some group that the person or family in need is involved with. Soccer league, firemans union, quilt guild, classmates' moms, etc.

They organize an event and publicize it. Do you have a group you're a member of that you might ask for help? Or maybe your old union or your DH's if you had them, or your co workers?

Anonymous said...

Holy hell, Jane, we need a new thread already.

So I couldn't resist checking out Talk Radio on the way home from work. Michael Savage was on and get this....he was floating the theory that Robert's judgement was impaired by his seizure medication. Yeah, that's the ticket!!!

Don't waste your time and energy trying to put together a fundraiser. Trust me, these days everyone is stingy and you won't get near what you need.

I do understand your situation as I am in a very similar one myself. DH's friend had a fundraiser for us and put about 6 months hard work into it - TONS of people came, it seemed like a huge success. But it only made a few thousand dollars - which YES was very helpful and we appreciated it more than you can imagine.

BUT when you're in a situation like ours, $3K did nothing more than catch us up on some past bills, and we're still screwed. Don't get me wrong, it was wonderful to get that much handed to us. But our situation is just beyond fundraiser-level money. The $3K barely made a dent in our bills.

We need to do some major changing in our lives -second jobs, selling/foreclosing on house, go down to one car, etc. SO now we just feel like we're forever indebted to this friend who worked his ass off for us (he did not make us feel this way, we just do), and we're feeling awkward around the people who donated b/c it's like they expect us to be all happy and free now, with no worries, like the fundraiser would've solved all our problems.

We do act happy and we're still fun people, but yes, the stress shows and people can see we've got a big weight on our shoulders and they don't understand how this big fundraiser didn't help. They think it raised $20 or 30K I think...or maybe they don't realize how bad off we are, I don't know.

Regardless, the fundraiser is a great solution if you only need X amount of money and then you'll be back on your feet. But if it's going to be just a small help, and you really need to make major changes like us, don't bother. Whoever organizes it will put in so much work and it won't net as much as you need....then people will never forget they donated money to you and it's just a weird feeling forever.

I had another friend in a similar situation about 15 years ago. People gave them a fundraiser. Fast forward to this year, and they just bought a house. YOu wouldn't believe how many people are FURIOUS that they can now afford a house. Their friends and family are constantly complaining "I gave them $100 for that damn fundraiser and now they have a house nicer than mine" or "I can't believe we gave them $150 and now they have a nice house". It's like no one forgets anything when it comes to money, and they don't give without strings.

Some people do, and will be happy to help. But many people will be annoyed at any future success you may have because they donated to you as charity at one point.

One more thing - I have been doing fundraisers for cancer most of my life due to a loss in my family. People used to donate lots more and more often than they do these days. I think it's a combo of things - people don't like how many fundraisers there are these days and they say every time they turn around there's another one, so they just don't donate to ANY anymore -- also the economy -- and also people are so saturated with all the sad stories now (due to internet, tv) it doesn't affect them like it used to. A sad story used to be able to get people to donate, but these days there are so many it's like they're desensitized to even the sickest baby.

Anyway good luck. I do know what it's like, and I'm probably going under soon, to be honest, but just wanted to save you the effort of a fundraiser (UNLESS $1-5K WILL help you and go a long way don't bother)

My children have no respect for me. They don't do what I tell them. They do whatever they want and on their own schedule. We don't believe in hitting our kids, but there are times when I really think about cracking them a good one on the ass to see if it has any effect.
