Hi Friends,
I know some of you have begun to wonder if I've lost interest in this blog, and I wanted to assure you that isn't true. The truth is I've been going through a very personal health and emotional matter lately, and it has taken most of my time. I will continue to post new space as before, but please bear with me if it's not right at the 200 mark.
Your Sister in Snark,
Jane

Hey MeGLOP:
Part of the reason some Americans don’t pay federal income taxes is that Republicans have passed a series of very large tax cuts that wiped out the income-tax liability for many poor Americans. That’s why, when you look at graphs of the percent of Americans who don’t pay income taxes, you see huge jumps after Ronald Reagan’s 1986 tax reform and George W. Bush’s 2001 and 2003 tax cuts.
So whenever you hear that half of Americans don’t pay federal income taxes, remember: Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush helped build that.
Desertpea has lost her ever-lovin' mind.
Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush helped build that.

Heads be a splodin'!
@202, you read Ezra Klein, too? You could at least give him credit for the quote.
If you make under a certain amount you are exempt from paying taxes. Do you want your Granny's paying all their limited income to taxes or have them stay tax free? I guess the dems want your Grannies to pay high taxes and eat cat food.
DON'T CONTACT ME HERE! LOL
Seriously, 202. Give credit to the person who actually thought the thought and wrote the words.
Conservative columnist David Brooks hit it on the head with this one: Personally, I think he’s a kind, decent man who says stupid things because he is pretending to be something he is not — some sort of cartoonish government-hater. But it scarcely matters. He’s running a depressingly inept presidential campaign. Mr. Romney, your entitlement reform ideas are essential, but when will the incompetence stop?
mymindseyepea had all her MLM posts deleted - seems 2peas can delete the spam real fast when they want to.

Typhus made her kid sit at the table until she would eat her shitty cooking(cream of mush soup and cream cheese, with italian dressing all in one recipe!) and is all proud of the fact she won a power struggle with a 6 year old.
Let the kid have some toast or something and call it good, it's not like it's any less nutritious than that vomit you call a nice meal.
Way to create food issues in your kids. If you don't like what I cook you can have one ounce of cheese for dinner.
Everyone tells her she's wrong, yet she comes back to say she won!! Yay Typhus! Bitch.
what is MLM?
no shit #11 and there were a few on that thread crowing about how they forced their kids to eat that dinner the next morning for breakfast or let them go hungry. Those poor kids will have issues with food for the rest of their lives because their parents couldn't loosen the reigns a bit and let them choose their own damn food.
I was one of the kids forced to eat whatever was served to me, I didn't have to clear my plate but I had to at least try it.
I don't have food issues, I am not a picky eater and I'm very polite while at another person's home if I happen too encounter something I may not care for. If I had a whole mess of kids I wouldn't be cooking separate meals for them either.
But I'm sure her food isn't that great anyway. But let's be serious, if a kid is really hungry they are going to eat. Going to bed without dinner occasionally BY THEIR OWN CHOICE won't kill them. The sense of entitlement in people starts right at home when Mommy caters to your every wish.
