Not jumping on the bandwagon and never posted this at the bukkit but I had abdominal migraines as a child. I am 50 so it was a long time ago. I'd get cramping stomach pain and then I'd vomit and sleep for a few hours and then I would be totally fine. Happened a few times and my mom took me to a doctor. I grew out of it and it was never as dramatic as the peas make it sound. It is real although I think it is more a childhood thing it's not very common in adults.

3. I tend to agree with the posters saying she looks a little haggard and she definitely looks older than her age. Probably sun damage mostly. It's nice that she's healthy, but a good hairdresser could do wonders for that hair. Hours and hours out in the elements *will* take a great toll on the skin and complexion of any person who spends a great deal of time outdoors. Her body may be healthy, but clearly her skin is not. She looks her age and more. I've noticed in the photos she's posted that she looks more and more haggard after every race. I personally think it's serious sun damage.... And it 's probably too late to correct the damage she has done. Too each his own. Shrug.

The second picture I think she was done with the race, but she had just run 26.2 miles. People in the 30's look haggard after running that far. I think she looks 50. Am I wrong? My daughter in law was taken from her bio mother at 6 months for abuse/neglect and raised by her father and later, a wonderful stepmother. Her father is awesome, gave bio mom visits but she only came a few times. DIL turns 18, comes to my town to get to know her mom, meets my son along the way. after 6 months, bio mom throws her out for "sleeping with her husband/stepfather". DIL says it was rape, and I have no doubt it was. she moves in with me, and we became really close.
The kids get married, have a beautiful baby, which bio mom has barely seen. DIL acts like she's over her, doesn't want her around the baby, etc. 1 year passes. DIL gets pregnant again, bio mom comes to hospital. DIL NAMES the baby after her!!!! Is this a plea for love? help me understand!
I'd put my money on guilt. There is a LOT of pressure in this society to accept and love one's mother no matter how bad they were at parenting. (Mine abandoned us several times and did/said/allowed things that should never have happened around young girls.) Getting pregnant doesn't mean somebody deserves love and respect.

Not jumping on the bandwagon and never posted this at the bukkit but I had abdominal migraines as a child. I am 50 so it was a long time ago. I'd get cramping stomach pain and then I'd vomit and sleep for a few hours and then I would be totally fine. Happened a few times and my mom took me to a doctor. I grew out of it and it was never as dramatic as the peas make it sound. It is real although I think it is more a childhood thing it's not very common in adults.

2. Just because someone is thin and in shape doesn't mean they're automatically pretty. There are dozens of fat girls that I can think of that are prettier than some of my friends with hot bodies. It's not always fat = ugly, thin = pretty, you know.
3. I tend to agree with the posters saying she looks a little haggard and she definitely looks older than her age. Probably sun damage mostly. It's nice that she's healthy, but a good hairdresser could do wonders for that hair. Her face could be helped with good makeup, but obviously I understand she's not going to be wearing makeup during a marathon, and since she only ever posts pictures of herself in marathons, well...so much for that.
Even with makeup, Beth would still look pretty ragged.

The second picture I think she was done with the race, but she had just run 26.2 miles. People in the 30's look haggard after running that far. I think she looks 50. In case you've not noticed, the NSBR is hardly a greatly diverse board.
The posts are mostly clustered by only - oddly enough - handful of topics.
Dieting, food, religion, politics, and family & pets make up the bulk of the posts, many of which are pages and pages long.
Running/Jogging? Not so much. They try to have a weekly thread, but in reality it's the same 4-5 posters, and CrafterB is always one of them -and she posts 2-3 or 4 times.
I think she sees herself as the 2Ps residence "expert" and graces the board with her faux expertise. I think she's a poser and loves the adulation the handful of peas dole out to her. She thrives on it. Typical narcissistic personality of most runners.

Am I wrong? My daughter in law was taken from her bio mother at 6 months for abuse/neglect and raised by her father and later, a wonderful stepmother. Her father is awesome, gave bio mom visits but she only came a few times. DIL turns 18, comes to my town to get to know her mom, meets my son along the way. after 6 months, bio mom throws her out for "sleeping with her husband/stepfather". DIL says it was rape, and I have no doubt it was. she moves in with me, and we became really close.
The kids get married, have a beautiful baby, which bio mom has barely seen. DIL acts like she's over her, doesn't want her around the baby, etc. 1 year passes. DIL gets pregnant again, bio mom comes to hospital. DIL NAMES the baby after her!!!! Is this a plea for love? help me understand!
I'd put my money on guilt. There is a LOT of pressure in this society to accept and love one's mother no matter how bad they were at parenting. (Mine abandoned us several times and did/said/allowed things that should never have happened around young girls.) Getting pregnant doesn't mean somebody deserves love and respect.
I feel for your DIL and hope she gets some counseling.
It's a fundamental human need to have your mother love you. Some people spend their whole lives trying to make it happen.
Try not to judge her too harshly she'll probably never be able to give up wanting her mother's love and acceptance no matter how much she loves you.
