Back during the end of session (May and June of this year) he stopped wearing his wedding ring and told friends in July that he was getting a divorce. He announced publicly that he was getting a divorce back in September (during interim days of the legislature). This didn't come as a surprise to most people. As others have said, he did cheat on his wife years ago. But for the past few years, he has had multiple affairs which is common knowledge in the Capitol. In May he began an affair with a Senator's daughter (her staff person). She was fairly open about the relationship; he was not. She claimed that he promised her by Fall he would be divorced and they could date publicly. She also claims they were/are in love and together. I say all of this as a divorced single mom with a child at home. I didn't know my now ex-husband was cheating until months after the divorce was final. I was naive to the fact and also never thought of the repercussions of my husband cheating. Needless to say, I immediately went to my doctor because I thought I was in a safe, monogamous relationship. I feel so incredibly sorry for Ali. She seems so caring and has been completely taken advantage of. She supports him financially, while he is off with a staffer who was in an open relationship with another legislator weeks before she began the affair with Chris. For Ali's sake, I hope she knows she is better off now. How Chris thought it was a good idea to have an affair with someone who weeks before was sleeping with one of his colleagues while his wife was at home taking care of his children and working hard to support him financially and emotionally, is beyond me. It's dirty, and I hope Ali knows that she deserves so much better than that.

yeah and here's the thing. The reason Yvonne was making those comments is because Lauren has made them before to another pea (TimsJen, and her sister JoEllen. Eh, I really did take my kids out of restaurants, stores, church or any public place pretty quickly if there was a meltdown - only happened a few times between the three. Not sure that it was Lauren's place to confront the parents though. Wouldn't it be better to ask a server or manager to handle it? Of course, the mom was going to get all defensive with Lauren's superior attitude. Both Chris and Ali lead public lives and both have chosen to do so. When she blogs about her family life and sells advertising based upon her blogs, her life is in the public light. I do not know Ali personally, but I do work in Salem and know Chris. Back during the end of session (May and June of this year) he stopped wearing his wedding ring and told friends in July that he was getting a divorce. He announced publicly that he was getting a divorce back in September (during interim days of the legislature). This didn't come as a surprise to most people. As others have said, he did cheat on his wife years ago. But for the past few years, he has had multiple affairs which is common knowledge in the Capitol. In May he began an affair with a Senator's daughter (her staff person). She was fairly open about the relationship; he was not. She claimed that he promised her by Fall he would be divorced and they could date publicly. She also claims they were/are in love and together. I say all of this as a divorced single mom with a child at home. I didn't know my now ex-husband was cheating until months after the divorce was final. I was naive to the fact and also never thought of the repercussions of my husband cheating. Needless to say, I immediately went to my doctor because I thought I was in a safe, monogamous relationship. I feel so incredibly sorry for Ali. She seems so caring and has been completely taken advantage of. She supports him financially, while he is off with a staffer who was in an open relationship with another legislator weeks before she began the affair with Chris. For Ali's sake, I hope she knows she is better off now. How Chris thought it was a good idea to have an affair with someone who weeks before was sleeping with one of his colleagues while his wife was at home taking care of his children and working hard to support him financially and emotionally, is beyond me. It's dirty, and I hope Ali knows that she deserves so much better than that.

yeah and here's the thing. The reason Yvonne was making those comments is because Lauren has made them before to another pea (TimsJen, and her sister JoEllen. See the URL above with the super long thread cut and pasted from the blog). That was one of the several times she was banned. Lauren started ramping up again that night and it was brought up.
Then there was the night she made nasty comments to Cara about her son. Totally uncalled for. Think she got banned for that one too.
