I love 2Peas, and though my time is super limited, I enjoy reading and watching everyone's families grow right along with mine. I started here when my son was 2 and he turns 13 soon, it's crazy! Life's too short to worry about this kinda stuff, so I'm certainly not gonna.

Wow, lots of good advice here. We're hoping that if we decide to list we'll be ready to go before we go on vacation at the end of July. That would mean we'd be out of the house for 10 days straight, including 2 weekend and the dog would be at my mom's that whole time.
Since the house is only 10 years old, there are a lot of non-issues that arise with house that are 30-50 years old, like roofs, etc. We've been really good about keeping junk from accumulating since most of the basement is finished. There are a lot of storage areas built into the house (and closets) so it's not hard for it to look really neat without a lot of effort in the next few weeks.
Cleaning windows, etc we will begin this weekend, already did a sweep through for paint nicks, etc and touched all those up before the real estate agent came out before to give us an estimate. The biggest thing that needs to be done is to clean up the drive way area edges as it's not paved and there are weeds, etc. About half of the driveways in our area are paved, other half are not. We live in a rural subdivision with long driveways so we'd be looking at least $10,000 to pave it and I don't think we want to do that at this point.
It does need a good cleaning and some decluttering. Most of the personal photos, etc are on one mantle piece in the living room, rest of the house is more general artwork - except DH's mancave which is a shrine to the Boston Red Sox, Montreal Canadiens and New England Patriots. Not much you can do about that..... -----------

This won't necessarily build your English vocabulary, but DH and I love learning new languages. He's fluent in Spanish, and has a smattering of Bulgarian, Portuguese, Hungarian, Japanese and Chinese. We are currently learning Gaelic (Irish) using the Rosetta Stone program. It's been fun! ***************************

I don't get the Peas. If another Pea had started a thread telling whomever to stop bumping someone's threads, they would have been hailed as a savior.

I think the reaction they had to an OP that had virtually no content is very telling. They could have read it and thought "you're right, someone is trying to make a point by bumping all those threads and it's mean spirited." instead they thought "this troll is annoyed by all the threads crazy house lady is posting and trying to get her to shut up."

squillen - no offense intended, but the powdery look to the chocolate on your truffles is an indication that the chocolate has not been tempered correctly. There might be issues with the tempering unit you have purchased. Also, the squarish shape to them does not say "truffle" to me. Instead it says "I made these in an ice cube tray." Although they may be tasty (I have no idea), they look amateurish. If I saw them in a store I would not buy them. This probably seems a harsh criticism, but if you have a business selling these items then it seems you would want constructive criticism to make your business better.

Wow, lots of good advice here. We're hoping that if we decide to list we'll be ready to go before we go on vacation at the end of July. That would mean we'd be out of the house for 10 days straight, including 2 weekend and the dog would be at my mom's that whole time.
Since the house is only 10 years old, there are a lot of non-issues that arise with house that are 30-50 years old, like roofs, etc. We've been really good about keeping junk from accumulating since most of the basement is finished. There are a lot of storage areas built into the house (and closets) so it's not hard for it to look really neat without a lot of effort in the next few weeks.
Cleaning windows, etc we will begin this weekend, already did a sweep through for paint nicks, etc and touched all those up before the real estate agent came out before to give us an estimate. The biggest thing that needs to be done is to clean up the drive way area edges as it's not paved and there are weeds, etc. About half of the driveways in our area are paved, other half are not. We live in a rural subdivision with long driveways so we'd be looking at least $10,000 to pave it and I don't think we want to do that at this point.
It does need a good cleaning and some decluttering. Most of the personal photos, etc are on one mantle piece in the living room, rest of the house is more general artwork - except DH's mancave which is a shrine to the Boston Red Sox, Montreal Canadiens and New England Patriots. Not much you can do about that.....

This won't necessarily build your English vocabulary, but DH and I love learning new languages. He's fluent in Spanish, and has a smattering of Bulgarian, Portuguese, Hungarian, Japanese and Chinese. We are currently learning Gaelic (Irish) using the Rosetta Stone program. It's been fun!

Actually, she wishes she had been raised as a WASP instead of as a Jewish princess. She's the girl that wished she could be like everyone else but wasn't because she was Jewish. I don't get the Peas. If another Pea had started a thread telling whomever to stop bumping someone's threads, they would have been hailed as a savior.
Peas would be falling all over each other telling them how wonderful they are for championing the cause of a poor persecuted pea being bullied by a thread-bumping troll.
I think the reaction they had to an OP that had virtually no content is very telling. They could have read it and thought "you're right, someone is trying to make a point by bumping all those threads and it's mean spirited." instead they thought "this troll is annoyed by all the threads crazy house lady is posting and trying to get her to shut up."
Once Queen Bully Burning Feather weighed in the rest just fell in line against the OP instead of employing any thought of their own.

squillen - no offense intended, but the powdery look to the chocolate on your truffles is an indication that the chocolate has not been tempered correctly. There might be issues with the tempering unit you have purchased. Also, the squarish shape to them does not say "truffle" to me. Instead it says "I made these in an ice cube tray." Although they may be tasty (I have no idea), they look amateurish. If I saw them in a store I would not buy them. This probably seems a harsh criticism, but if you have a business selling these items then it seems you would want constructive criticism to make your business better.
Brandy...stick with your technique! They look very professional and I would be so happy to receive them as a gift.

Her truffles don't look very good at all, the chocolate looks too thick and cheap, and they do look like they were made in ice cube trays.
She sells these things, how hard would it be to get some better molds? Or for that matter - hand-dip them?
They make truffle molds, but that would require she use less cheap thick chocolate and more filling.
I had to go back and read through the thread twice because I couldn't figure out where Squillen had posted a photo of her truffles, I didn't realize those things with the jagged edges were what she calls truffles.
Squillens "truffles" looked like shit. They do look like they were made in an ice cubetray-with cheap chocolate that was way past its prime. With her prices you'd think she'd be embarrassed to be all lazy like that.
