It is funny - I came back to this mb last month after not being around for years. I actually never even opened this thread because I had no idea what the title meant. I knew I must have grown up because the lure of a 8 pager wasn't even there...until about 3am when I couldn't sleep and I had read every other blog, mb, website and I thought I was just looking for something to read. All I can say is wow. 10 years ago when I first started posting here I was much younger. I had 'friends'. I had 'enemies'. I had a wise ass attitude that didn't come across very well in the written word - unless you knew me. I shared too much at times and didn't share enough at others, because it just wasn't anyone's business. I got swooped up in drama and to be honest I've left it all behind. It was in the past and I moved on. I can hardly remember the stupid shit that went on here. I had been stalked here, bullied and loved. Quite a few times these three things went farther than the message board and invaded my 'real' life. But, there were good times and well, that is what led me back here.
Then I read this thread in a fit of insomnia. Wow.
Few things that I read that kind of made me laugh. Makes me laugh because for such wonderful memories that we all tend to think we have, it is the little things that are so wrong they make me laugh. Some of the things are so little and really have no bearing on where ever this thread is going, but it just goes to show how information can get so skewed and twisted years later and even when things were/are happening. As stated in a previous post...in the grand scheme of things, none of this really matters anyway.
I remember how the LLPs were outed and it wasn't pretty. It started actually as an act of kindness. Karen and someone (sorry can't remember her partner) started a scrapping business with a military theme. I actually wanted to use some of their paper for my great uncle's Distinguished Service Cross citation. Anyway, one of the LLPs posted a link from their board to Karen's military business. So Karen, etc., were at a scrap show looking at the IPs of those who followed the link and found the LLPs. It got nasty after that.
We started a RUBBER STAMP company. It wasn't a military themed company. It was a rubber stamp company that had a line of military stamps. There wasn't any paper involved - but thank you for stating you would have used it. I honestly don't remember the timeline involved, but I wasn't at a scrap show looking at IPs. While it was two of us that owned the company, we had a TEAM of people that helped us out. We were following people that linked to us. It was fun to see our little company being discussed. It was fun to see who had interest in us. One link went back to the LLP board where they were WISHING US LUCK. The link was followed quite innocently. The team knew about the link and the hundreds of others that came to our site
The war in Iraq and the Bush administration had everything to do with the way we reacted on the board. Karen and Vanessa were part of the group that supported the war. I wasn't part of the LLPs so I don't know what they talked about, but my impression of what went on then definitely included bad feelings over the war issue. Maybe the LLPs formed so they could talk without everything becoming so personal.
I never stated my political views on this site or any other site. I think my friends know which way I lean - but I never outright spoke politics. I had good relations with many of the LLPs as well as many of the Right. I don't want to speak for the group of women that made up that board, but I believe they did it for a place for them to discuss their views amongst themselves. They were/are lovely women who didn't deserve any of this. None. It made and still makes my stomach ache to see those three letters (LLP) pulled into crap like this. There have been many times I wish I had never started a company, followed links, looked for marketing, etc. because when it come down to it, I was the owner and thus need to take the blame for what was done - even though what I did wasn't malicious. It was my name and my company that started this f*cking feud. I am truly sorry for everything.
Anyway, the one thing I never really got was why in the world would 2 women who were trying to get a business off the ground choose outing a message board group with the possibility of a good 2peas scandal OVER keeping it a secret & hoping for some business out of it. I never, ever got that. It seemed right along the same lines as exposing employers, kids names etc to me. A sort of "we found this out & how quickly can we share this info."
It was never like that - even though many want to think that. I started and ran a clean and straight and narrow company for 5 years. BUT, with the accusations and thoughts like this, believe me, it was very difficult to do.
I do know they weren't the 2 who brought it to the board, and as I said, this was my first 2 peas scandal so I don't even know them...but it was clear they had figured it out & then got on their own bat phone so to speak & let everyone know what they had discovered.
It just seemed like a bad idea. And super bad mojo for a new business.

To read message boards...yes plural..BOARDS telling people not to do business with us because we supposedly gave out everything from addresses to credit card numbers and we could not be trusted was sickening.
I don't know who taunted who. I don't know why some people feel it is necessary to bring others personal information to a public place. It is all sick. Look at this thread....it is a only a handful of people that were affected one way or another by this and the drama that ensued, yet everyone has an opinion or their 'memory' of the past. It was 5 years ago and everyone is letting one or two+ crazies get the best of them all over again. The others...well, it is time to let this all go. It was so long ago. It is funny - I came back to this mb last month after not being around for years. I actually never even opened this thread because I had no idea what the title meant. I knew I must have grown up because the lure of a 8 pager wasn't even there...until about 3am when I couldn't sleep and I had read every other blog, mb, website and I thought I was just looking for something to read. All I can say is wow. 10 years ago when I first started posting here I was much younger. I had 'friends'. I had 'enemies'. I had a wise ass attitude that didn't come across very well in the written word - unless you knew me. I shared too much at times and didn't share enough at others, because it just wasn't anyone's business. I got swooped up in drama and to be honest I've left it all behind. It was in the past and I moved on. I can hardly remember the stupid shit that went on here. I had been stalked here, bullied and loved. Quite a few times these three things went farther than the message board and invaded my 'real' life. But, there were good times and well, that is what led me back here.
Then I read this thread in a fit of insomnia. Wow.
Few things that I read that kind of made me laugh. Makes me laugh because for such wonderful memories that we all tend to think we have, it is the little things that are so wrong they make me laugh. Some of the things are so little and really have no bearing on where ever this thread is going, but it just goes to show how information can get so skewed and twisted years later and even when things were/are happening. As stated in a previous post...in the grand scheme of things, none of this really matters anyway.
I remember how the LLPs were outed and it wasn't pretty. It started actually as an act of kindness. Karen and someone (sorry can't remember her partner) started a scrapping business with a military theme. I actually wanted to use some of their paper for my great uncle's Distinguished Service Cross citation. Anyway, one of the LLPs posted a link from their board to Karen's military business. So Karen, etc., were at a scrap show looking at the IPs of those who followed the link and found the LLPs. It got nasty after that.
We started a RUBBER STAMP company. It wasn't a military themed company. It was a rubber stamp company that had a line of military stamps. There wasn't any paper involved - but thank you for stating you would have used it. I honestly don't remember the timeline involved, but I wasn't at a scrap show looking at IPs. While it was two of us that owned the company, we had a TEAM of people that helped us out. We were following people that linked to us. It was fun to see our little company being discussed. It was fun to see who had interest in us. One link went back to the LLP board where they were WISHING US LUCK. The link was followed quite innocently. The team knew about the link and the hundreds of others that came to our site
The war in Iraq and the Bush administration had everything to do with the way we reacted on the board. Karen and Vanessa were part of the group that supported the war. I wasn't part of the LLPs so I don't know what they talked about, but my impression of what went on then definitely included bad feelings over the war issue. Maybe the LLPs formed so they could talk without everything becoming so personal.
I never stated my political views on this site or any other site. I think my friends know which way I lean - but I never outright spoke politics. I had good relations with many of the LLPs as well as many of the Right. I don't want to speak for the group of women that made up that board, but I believe they did it for a place for them to discuss their views amongst themselves. They were/are lovely women who didn't deserve any of this. None. It made and still makes my stomach ache to see those three letters (LLP) pulled into crap like this. There have been many times I wish I had never started a company, followed links, looked for marketing, etc. because when it come down to it, I was the owner and thus need to take the blame for what was done - even though what I did wasn't malicious. It was my name and my company that started this f*cking feud. I am truly sorry for everything.
Anyway, the one thing I never really got was why in the world would 2 women who were trying to get a business off the ground choose outing a message board group with the possibility of a good 2peas scandal OVER keeping it a secret & hoping for some business out of it. I never, ever got that. It seemed right along the same lines as exposing employers, kids names etc to me. A sort of "we found this out & how quickly can we share this info."
It was never like that - even though many want to think that. I started and ran a clean and straight and narrow company for 5 years. BUT, with the accusations and thoughts like this, believe me, it was very difficult to do.
I do know they weren't the 2 who brought it to the board, and as I said, this was my first 2 peas scandal so I don't even know them...but it was clear they had figured it out & then got on their own bat phone so to speak & let everyone know what they had discovered.
It just seemed like a bad idea. And super bad mojo for a new business.

It was a stumbling block that haunted me for years. To read message boards...yes plural..BOARDS telling people not to do business with us because we supposedly gave out everything from addresses to credit card numbers and we could not be trusted was sickening.
I don't know who taunted who. I don't know why some people feel it is necessary to bring others personal information to a public place. It is all sick. Look at this thread....it is a only a handful of people that were affected one way or another by this and the drama that ensued, yet everyone has an opinion or their 'memory' of the past. It was 5 years ago and everyone is letting one or two+ crazies get the best of them all over again. The others...well, it is time to let this all go. It was so long ago. That isn't meant as a handslap by any means. Please don't take it as that.
Now, to keep the spreadsheeters updated- although I wonder how accurate all those spreadsheets really are...lol-
I disolved my company a little over a year ago. The final two years I ran it myself. If anyone wants rubber stamps (not military - because that was only one line that was created FIVE years ago) - I can give them to you for a pretty damn cheap. LOL.
Once again, as the owner of the company that seemed to have started all of this, I take the responsibility and I am truly sorry. I apologized to the women of the LLP board years ago and I apologize again.

I don't buy a lot for my kids throughout the year either, so I know what Heartcat is saying. My kids do get a small allowance, so if they want something they need to save and buy it with their allowance. Occasionally, they may ask to do extra chores to earn a little extra $$$.

I don't think you beat my financially stable, full time employed mil and fil spending $15 or less for three children. Yep. $15 for dd, who she sees several times a week. Clearance flannel pjs. Ds got a race track with no cars and no batteries.

I guess that's the difference no allowance for my kids, but if they ask for something and it's in the budget I'll get it for them regardless of whether it's July or Dec 25th.

If there was anything that could make me believe in god, it would be the fact that peatards like them are infertile. It really does seem as though that was intelligent design at work.

That's because it's the men that were drinking beer while the ladies had wine. Common let's face it, beer isn't exactly high class.
