(I did not have that experience even though I went to the same college as dh. As it happens, my high school actually was incredibly rigorous not just in terms of workload, but intellectual/academic rigor. In some ways, high school was harder than my college classes. I was accustomed to the work load and the expectations, so my transition was pretty smooth. At our first class reunion, those of us who went to college all had similar experiences. I have a mountain bike that was expensive. Even the street wheels I bought to trade out and ride it locally were $600 just for the set of wheels.

1. Really? You decide what to watch on tv based on what diseases your family has?
2. I enjoyed watching Michael J. Fox when I was younger too, but its fricking uncomfortable watching him twitch and spaz all over. To be completely honest I can't get past it in order to enjoy what the show is supposed to be about. All I can see is the discomfort and awkwardness. I feel bad for him and just want to tell him to please go take it easy and relax. I feel guilty about this and I wonder how many other people feel the same.
1...yes, when my dad had ALS, I was more interested in documentaries about ALS. I was interested in learning more. I don't know a thing about the MJF show, haven't even heard of it actually, but I imagine its kind of the same...she might just learn something that will help her sister.

I'm assuming you were not deliriously happy in the marriage, yes? At least you will now be free to pursue your idea of a perfect life, whether that is free and by yourself or finding a true and better partner. Are there small children? That makes things harder, but still doable. Luck to you.
Also, I could only find myalgia listed as muscle pain, varried causes. Fibro has no apparent cause and covers more than muscle pain. Do you know the source?
Thanks 173. Totally blindsided. It doesn't bother me, I'm an adult and I'll be fine. I was just awakened by a cramp that curled my toes under and twisted my leg up completely. THAT is what I deal with, it hurts like a bitch. I got it worked out. Again, I'll be fine. I don't know what is causing it. "Myalgia and Myositis" (I can only find polymyositis - I assume that's it). Oh well, I might as well be happy though - I have to be.

#174, I'm sorry. I was blindsided by mine too, but as time went on, I realized there were signs, but I didn't think they were to the divorce degree yet. Nevertheless, I made it and so will you. We are stronger than we think we are, and something like this lets us bring forth the hidden strength w we have.
My observations are that women fair better emotionally because we get it out, talk with family and friends, and we deal with reality. Men, at least most, bury it and it keeps popping up on them for years and years. My ex called me blubbering and remorseful about fifteen years later! I had moved on, and he was still carrying it.
He told me he dreams about me frequently. I guess you can control your thoughts while awake, but the man was tortured in his sleep for years. He even asked if we could rekindle! Uh, no.
I looked up your myositis too and didn't learn much, just muscle inflammation. I do know that leg/toe cramps can be from lack of potassium and not enough water. Maybe try eating a banana daily and increasing water intake?
You sound very together and strong. I hope you find the source of the painful cramps soon. I don't think myalgia and myositis are a diagnosis, but a description of what is going on and they don't yet know the cause. Frustrating, I'm sure! Again, luck to you.

I got divorced several years ago. My ex said he would do anything it took to get the kids away from me. I got full custody he got supervised visitation. It is a stressful time in your life. Talk to us when you feel comfortable. Lots of us have been through it.
