I went there because I wanted something other than a home test and it's where my dr recommended I go for it since I couldn't get in for a test at his office right away. I had my 1 yr old with me. I told them I was married and that we had been trying to get pregnant but even so, when the test came back positive, they sat me down and talked about nothing but abortion and gave me fliers about abortion. Kept asking if I was sure I didn't want to terminate. I was shocked and left without the fliers. ------------------------------------------------- I find this very hard to believe.

It makes sense that abortion might be the best choice when you think of their ultimate mission.
Also terminating a pregnancy very early one has fewer risks to the mother from a medical standpoint. They often want women who are on the fence to make a choice as soon as possible for their own safety.

They were very nice, professional, and courteous. As soon as I said it was a wanted baby, they never mentioned termination. In fact they gave me a four month supply of prenatal pills, a due-date calendar, and a list of PCP in the area. I paid the fee for the visit and that was that.
I've never understood why people are so fearful of PP. It's very much like any walk in clinic. And just for continuity, my visit there was a decade ago.

An update for the blog bitches...a month or so ago, I was raked over the coals here for being a SAHM that networked and kept up with my former work contacts. Today, I mentioned to a group of us out for lunch that I was thinking about going back to work, but I had to start looking into daycare options. One of the women contacted me after our lunch, and I was offered a part time job as her assistant. She knows me and my work ethic, and had no problems offering me the job without even checking references. She works out of her home as a consultant, and has been looking for an assistant. To start with, I will be part time, and she is fine with me working 4 hours in the afternoon, during naptime and quiet time. She is offering $20/hour to start, with PTO and benefits. After 3 months, we will review together how the job is going and if we are both satisfied with the arrangement, we can look at going to a part-time salary, with the option of full time. Guess all that networking was dumb, right??
Do you mean networking #83? I just kept in contact with my former coworkers, and I made sure to stay active in our community so I could be meeting new people. I made mental note of where people worked, and what they did. I volunteered when I could, to help others, as well as to have fresh reference to put on my resume. Even though I was a SAHM, I made it a priority to do things I enjoyed, not just kid related things.

An update for the blog bitches...a month or so ago, I was raked over the coals here for being a SAHM that networked and kept up with my former work contacts. Today, I mentioned to a group of us out for lunch that I was thinking about going back to work, but I had to start looking into daycare options. One of the women contacted me after our lunch, and I was offered a part time job as her assistant. She knows me and my work ethic, and had no problems offering me the job without even checking references. She works out of her home as a consultant, and has been looking for an assistant. To start with, I will be part time, and she is fine with me working 4 hours in the afternoon, during naptime and quiet time. She is offering $20/hour to start, with PTO and benefits. After 3 months, we will review together how the job is going and if we are both satisfied with the arrangement, we can look at going to a part-time salary, with the option of full time. Guess all that networking was dumb, right??

Do you mean networking #83? I just kept in contact with my former coworkers, and I made sure to stay active in our community so I could be meeting new people. I made mental note of where people worked, and what they did. I volunteered when I could, to help others, as well as to have fresh reference to put on my resume. Even though I was a SAHM, I made it a priority to do things I enjoyed, not just kid related things.
Not sure what is so hard to understand, 82. I said I was raked over the coals here a month or so ago. I was told I was dumb for being a SAHM, and that if my DH ever left me, I would be broke and homeless. Just updating that networking worked for me.
