138 - I don't think it's a bad idea to look for answers anywhere you can find them. There are some medical conditions that are rare or uncommon - doctors can't be expected to know every single thing. Maybe somebody else has a similar experience and can offer ome ideas to follow up on. Can't hurt. Well I am another one tipping my hat to Captain K. I hate people who suck off the government while thinking that the niceties of life are owed to them.
I don't have an iphone, or fake nails, haven't been on a real vacation in over 4 years, and I'm actually buying some clothing items at Walmart! Seriously! I picked up a couple of cardigans for work there last week.
And, I work full time! I'm single, so I'm not spending anyone elses money but mine. We had cutbacks at work and I'm feeling the pinch.
If I can do it, so can she. Oh, and I take a buttload of medications too. My insurance pays for most of it.
We have iphones, I get pedicures regularly (but not nasty acrylic nails), and we take regular vacations... those are all luxuries that we pay for - in addition to our insurance premiums and pharmacy co-pays.
We've had times when money was tight, and the first things to go were luxuries - and we used that money to pay for essentials...like health insurance.

I hate people abusing the system, but it's ridiculous that poor and sick people have to go searching and begging - from insurance co.'s, pharmacys, churchs, charities, etc - to get help.
Here's what I don't get about the whole medicaid situation (beyond having what almost anyone would consider luxuries). Her kids are at least 10 and 12, meaning they have been in school full time for at least 4 years (don't know how old the siggie line is).
At what point did it get decided that it would be better to take state aid for insurance than to get a part time job during the day while the kids are at school? And she has to meet with a social worker to get it or continue it? I cannot even imagine the lengths I would be willing to go to before I ever let the government into my family's business.
Is there no stigma to taking government aid anymore? Particularly when there are other options? Clearly there are other options here.
the other option is stepping up and being responsible for yourself and your family and getting off your ass. But it is so easy to get everything handed to you. If the government would like to increase jobs they should Hire a bunch of people to start following up on people who are on assistance for long periods of time. Maybe somebody else has a similar experience and can offer ome ideas to follow up on. Can't hurt. Here's what I don't get about the whole medicaid situation (beyond having what almost anyone would consider luxuries).
Her kids are at least 10 and 12, meaning they have been in school full time for at least 4 years (don't know how old the siggie line is).
At what point did it get decided that it would be better to take state aid for insurance than to get a part time job during the day while the kids are at school?
And she has to meet with a social worker to get it or continue it? I cannot even imagine the lengths I would be willing to go to before I ever let the government into my family's business.
Is there no stigma to taking government aid anymore? Particularly when there are other options? Clearly there are other options here.
the other option is stepping up and being responsible for yourself and your family and getting off your ass. But it is so easy to get everything handed to you.
If the government would like to increase jobs they should Hire a bunch of people to start following up on people who are on assistance for long periods of time. I'm sure the money that will be saved will be more than the wages needed to pay these people.
The system is in place for those who need it. And if you need it I hope you can get it. It is the abusers of the system that wreck it for everyone.
