I used to have a 400sq ft. craft room, I filled it to the brim with "stuff". But it got to the point where I was just sick of it. I didn't use half the stuff I had, I held onto old product that I would never use again, etc...Finally I just donated everything I didn't want or use and I'm down to one bookcase of craft supplies, and I couldn't be happier. It's so much easier to actually make things when you know what you have and where it is!

ITA. Parenting IRL compared to dreaming of being a mother is so different. I think that is were so many people go wrong. They keep trying to make life live up to the perfect dream and feeling like failures every time it comes up short. Viewing being able give birth as such a valuable thing is even sadder. Being a good mother is something to be proud of and aim for if you so desire. Squeezing a baby out not so much.
I think placing such a huge value on giving birth really does a huge disservice to what being a mother is. Being a mother is not something your body does it is something you do with your heart and your mind. You embrace a child and your soul becomes dedicated to their well being. It has nothing to do with how the child came into your life.

Sometimes when I look at these craft rooms, I actually get nauseous. What a huge fucking waste. I have the ability to buy the newest machine every time I turn around, but I don't because I don't end up using them. I have a fear of ending up living in a house like Hoarders. It's so much easier to actually make things when you know what you have and where it is!

I think placing such a huge value on giving birth really does a huge disservice to what being a mother is. Being a mother is not something your body does it is something you do with your heart and your mind. You embrace a child and your soul becomes dedicated to their well being. It has nothing to do with how the child came into your life.
Let's face it. Being a mommy when you have a baby or a toddler is just puppies and rainbows.

To be totally 100% honest I like my teens better than I liked my babies. Newborns are okay because they are easy to please but that age between when they are mobile and when they truly understand danger. I was also NOT a fan of the stage before they could talk and tell you what hurt, what they wanted, or if they were dying or simply tired. .

Mine are pretty great. Sure their is the occasional mood swing, but it never lasts that long.
I'm enjoying this time in their lives just as I have when their were babies and toddlers.

Oh yes....the perfect Peas are here. I did watch my toddlers and clean my home often in fact in hindsight much too often. I did not however have eyes in the back of my head and little ones can be fast. My example was simply that an EXAMPLE of the sort of thing that drove me crazy NOT something I dealt with on a daily basis because I was lazy and careless. So go fuck yourself helicopter.

Oh please. It has nothing to do with being lazy. I simply found not being able to communicate fully and being on constant alert to be very frustrating. Babies and toddlers are a lot of work and I'm glad to be past diapers and tantrums. That doesn't mean I just throw money at my teens and ignore them. I'm sure that is what you want to believe because your tiny mind can only wrap around so much. So really if you feel all nice and smug about your life compared to how you imagine mine go ahead. It's my gift to you. Lean back feel all perfect and superior if it brings you joy. :)
