Most, I think. My mom is a nice lady - I've never heard her say anything out and out racist. But when we talked about the election and I said I was voting for O, she said "You like HIM?" and made a face. When I asked her what she disliked about the POTUS, she couldn't give me an answer: "Oh, I don't know..."
She's in her 70's, grew up during segregation, rural, small town, has never had much exposure to blacks other than The Jeffersons or street thug stereotyping. I think there's a deep-seated, unconscious sense of 'a black man doesn't belong in the White House', especially in her generation. Coming to grips with changing demographics and a sense of loss of societial primacy is hard/scary for them.

Well, from my perception - and the perception of many others - the GOP uses and tolerates racism to rally certain segments of it's base.
That racism can be over the top blatent....go to Free Republic or pull up some old Tea Party vids and see for yourself. And it can be subtler dog whistles. It's whether or not you allow others to hold their own beliefs that is the important distinction. 159 here. My SIL has been contacted by my BIL's commander. It's serious but not life threatening anymore. Something involving an IED and a firefight. He should be arriving in Germany pretty soon, and my in laws are sending my SIL over to be with him.

I know there was a thread previously about tween boys turning smelly (LOL). My DS is almost 12 and has suddenly developed the most horrendous breath! (Saw the dentist not long ago, so I don't think it's something like decaying gums or poor toothbrushing.)
He's got a bit of B.O. too, but I don't think it's excessive... That breath is insane though. Somebody tell me it's just a phase please!! We're trying mouthwashes, brushing more often, drinking more water... not helping much.
