53-I agree. I will admit here that I was this way with my first child. I totally own it. At this point, I'm trying to reverse the damage now that she's a teenager. She is shy by nature and being helicopter mom did not help her at all. It's been baby steps but I think it's working. Luckily I caught on to my behavior early and my younger two kids are so much more independent and better able to hand decision making themselves.

I was 275 a year or so ago and wore a 22 bottom, 1X or 2X top. I lost 40 pounds and wore a 16/18 bottom, XL top. I am 5'5" if I stand up tall and wear good shoes.

I weigh 235 and I'm 5'4" and I can wear some regular XL shirts, not all of them of course, but I can a pretty good bit of them just depends on the size and style and I wear an 18 jeans. I have an hour glass shape, it may be a two hour glass but still I'm pretty proportionate ;) Everyone wears their weight differently and is proportioned differently, can't you see that just looking at people?

i am 5'4", this morning i weigh 232.8, and today I went shopping and bought a top at Macy's, one at ann taylor, and two at Kohl's. I didn't buy pants because i don't need any, my jeans and trousers are fine, but I needed tops. all of them are xl's from the regular section. i think i tried on one xl that I didn't like, was a little tight across the upper arm, fit everywhere but in the arm which looked like a country ham, no thanks. i bought a jacket in h&m that was a 12, but that was a fluke, i have no idea how they size their stuff, sometimes i can wear it and sometimes its too small.

I can't believe KristenL is having another kid with that lazy good for nothing DH of hers. She's constantly posting about how lazy he, how he never helps her, and how he's always hanging out with his "buddies". Real smart having another kid KristenL.
I think Sass said they were 7,9, and 10. She legally adopted them, which explains why she was asking how to "undo" the adoption. I think she gets a monthly stipend because they're all special needs. (SSI or some other program.)
But because she adopted them, if she threw them back to the state and either had them sent to foster care or an institution, it seems the state would come after her for a sum of monthly child support for their care. She said she needs both the stipend to support her family financially, and that child support would be too much.
So she's keeping the kids, whom she can't help, and clearly she can't stand them either. It's depressing.

53-I agree. I will admit here that I was this way with my first child. I totally own it. At this point, I'm trying to reverse the damage now that she's a teenager. She is shy by nature and being helicopter mom did not help her at all. It's been baby steps but I think it's working. Luckily I caught on to my behavior early and my younger two kids are so much more independent and better able to hand decision making themselves.

I think she was like many moms, the dream of being a mother and the reality are two different things. She adopted children who were older with some serious issues that were not fully disclosed at the time. She mixed in some bad choices in parenting, sprinkled on some of her own issues and cooked up one hot mess.
I think she went into adoption with the best intentions but ill prepared and without the support system she needed. Now she is trying to put out a 3 alarm fire with a wet dish rag and a prayer.

When I went to my 10 year high school reunion I was surprised to find that the most ambitious girls in my class, (cheerleading, sports, government, numerous clubs), had been already married for years, had two kids and were SAHMs. It's like they only went to college to find their husbands. I guess I was kind of disappointed, I was expecting more from them.
It won't be long before Sass' daughter reads Sass' posts all over 2Peas, and even worse, Adoption.com. She posts everything under the same handle, and although she doesn't name names, she's very specific about which child is which, and discloses everything about them in the worst light.
Incidentally, the adopted daughter she's ranting about isn't the much maligned oldest daughter. (That one's already 18) This is the 15 year old who's acting out. These kids never had a chance.

Does Sass still get money for the kids after they turn 18? I think the older two are 18 and over now. It seems she is really counting on that stipend from the state to pay her mortgage. She comments on the adoption site that she is afraid if she kicks the child out, she will lose that money. So sad. For the child, I mean.
Actually, she just took the last "s" off of "Sassafrass," so now she's "Sassafras." LOL. What a wily one, she is.
In practically every post Sass makes on Adoption.com, she talks about both the stipend and the possibility that she might have to pay child support, if she relinquishes the remaining children. She's even said that's the only reason she's keeping them. Only one poster called her out over it, and got flamed by the others, who are even more softheaded than the Peas.

i am 5'4", this morning i weigh 232.8, and today I went shopping and bought a top at Macy's, one at ann taylor, and two at Kohl's. I didn't buy pants because i don't need any, my jeans and trousers are fine, but I needed tops. all of them are xl's from the regular section. i think i tried on one xl that I didn't like, was a little tight across the upper arm, fit everywhere but in the arm which looked like a country ham, no thanks. i bought a jacket in h&m that was a 12, but that was a fluke, i have no idea how they size their stuff, sometimes i can wear it and sometimes its too small.

Shit, when I was 5-2 and 185, I was in an XL or 1X top and 14 pant. I was a fat girl for sure. I don't see how some of you are 50 pounds heavier than I was and wearing the same size clothes. **shrug**
I will say that I have lost a little over 50 pounds and really work my ass off now. This girl is looking good and feeling fine. I now know how it feels to be the skinny bitch and it's makes being the fat girl blow. Sorry.

I can't believe KristenL is having another kid with that lazy good for nothing DH of hers. She's constantly posting about how lazy he, how he never helps her, and how he's always hanging out with his "buddies". Real smart having another kid KristenL.
How old were those kids when Sass got them? Did she legally adopt them? I thought she did. If so, then why is she getting any $ for them at all?
#196, I don't think they are the same. I think she is single.
I think Sass said they were 7,9, and 10. She legally adopted them, which explains why she was asking how to "undo" the adoption. I think she gets a monthly stipend because they're all special needs. (SSI or some other program.)
But because she adopted them, if she threw them back to the state and either had them sent to foster care or an institution, it seems the state would come after her for a sum of monthly child support for their care. She said she needs both the stipend to support her family financially, and that child support would be too much.
So she's keeping the kids, whom she can't help, and clearly she can't stand them either. It's depressing.
