Actually dumbass it's not. After an adoption is finalized the adoptive parents apply for an amended birth certificate that lists them as the parents. BH's situation is certainly not the norm by any stretch of the imagination, but your special chosen child husband's is completely normal.
4 days for the BPs to sign consent to the adoption, but the adoption won't be finalized for at least 6 months. BH still will have to be subject to home visits by an adoption case worker during that time and then they will advise the court for finalization.
