I'm in the minority too with that wife/husband thing. The husband shouldn't come home from a day out at golf and just expect that the wife is going to stop what she's doing and whip up dinner for 2 grown men. All they had to do was call ahead and see what the wife and dd were doing for dinner...then if there wasn't anything there for them they could've picked something up to eat. Or they could've seen the girls were done cooking for the day and ordered a pizza.
Maybe the wife could've been nicer in the way she said it, but I'm just stunned that the husband would expect to be "fed" like he's a little kid. Who thinks like that? That if you walk in the door at 5 or 6 unexpectedly, someone will magically provide you dinner? Why, because she's "the girl"? There was no plan for him to be home that day at dinnertime, let alone bring an extra guest.
On top of that the wife was working her butt off and he was golfing. What if the wife had come in from the mall and the husband had been doing the reno work? Shit - AMEX sent my 22 year old a gold card 6 months after college graduation when his first job was paying him $9/hour. AMEX gold is NOT a status credit card any more.
