Oh please. I grew up with 2 adults and 7 children with one bathroom. I don't ever remember a single problem. And back then our family size was the norm, at least where I live. And I didn't know anyone with 2 bathrooms until I got into high school and the mcmansions started sprouting up in new developments. These days everyone acts like a baby if they don't have 4 bedrooms and a bathroom for each person in the house, and an office, and a scraproom and a laundry room...seriously yes it's nice, but none of it is necessary. No wonder the housing market crashed. People's minimum house requirements are so far beyond what they can afford it's ridiculous.

I live in a very rural miwestern area where you could purchase a home in "town" for 70K but it would need a lot of work. It would probably require a total remodel. I would say the average starter home in my area is 100K and a newer family home is closer to 175k and up.

Let's say you're a teacher in CT or NY, you might make $80 or $90K. That sounds great to a teacher in WV making $30K. But all the bills and prices are higher in CT and NY and all the bills and prices are lower in WV.
It's not a matter of snobbery to say I don't want to live in the rural South or on a Midwestern farm, where there are houses for $70K. It's just not my interest. It's beautiful and I can imagine it's a very peaceful way of life for many people, but for me I like to have a lot of city action, lots of people, fast-paced convenience.

No, I kind of get what she's saying. There's nothing Jewish about "Messianic Jews." They're not Jews who converted to Christianity, they're not Jewish by heritage, ethnicity, culture, and since they worship Jesus, not Jews by religion.

Those were teacups being sold in an online/catalog company - uncommon goods maybe, or one of those quirky stores. It wasn't antique stuff, just regular china/teacups that they put "shocking" words on to be silly/funny. It was something that went around for a bit on Pinterest so a lot of people saw them, but it wasn't a fad. I think people saw it and laughed and probably posted about it on 2Peas, but I doubt most people actually bought it. It was kind of funny, although on Pinterest, it's funny the first 3 or 4 times you see it, but then it gets annoying when everyone and their brother is pinning it and you see it constantly.

I was just saying that I would never want to live in the areas of the country that have houses for $70K. Here that would get you barely a garage. It sounds like it must be very rural or way out in the country or in the backwoods South.
On the contrary, the only thing missing here is a mall, but there are two huge cities within 40 miles that take care of that need.
We try not to brag to much, tired of all the new people moving here. :)

But everyone also makes more money here too. It's not like everyone that lives where a decnet house is at least $400K is struggling, while everyone that lives where a decent house is $50K is living the high life. Some people are living well and some people are struggling in every area. It's all relative. It's a scale.
Let's say you're a teacher in CT or NY, you might make $80 or $90K. That sounds great to a teacher in WV making $30K. But all the bills and prices are higher in CT and NY and all the bills and prices are lower in WV.
It's not a matter of snobbery to say I don't want to live in the rural South or on a Midwestern farm, where there are houses for $70K. It's just not my interest. It's beautiful and I can imagine it's a very peaceful way of life for many people, but for me I like to have a lot of city action, lots of people, fast-paced convenience.

You have to be Biggest Loser sized to lose that much weight in a week. NOT something to be proud of.
I'm not Biggest Loser size and if I drank lots of H20 and ate healthy, cutting out all junk food, I could lose that much weight in 7 days.

I need to vent and don't want the right wing crazies coming out so I'm doing it here....my friend's Mom sent me an email forward about the ACLU suing to stop prayer in the military. So I googled and chose one of the five or six links that debunk the entire story, hit "reply all" and sent it with a note about researching before forwarding.
I got a reply to me from her friend "Ted" who thought he was replying to her (addressed his response to her but he replied to my link) and he's babbling something about Obama's microchip and the anti-christ and the mark of the beast and how he knows he should read Snopes but doesn't know if he believes them....etc.
So I google Obama microchip and besides Snopes, there are eleventy billion right wing zealot links about how Obamacare is going to require everyone to have microchips and how that signals the end of times because its the mark of the beast, blah blah blah.
Snopes of course debunked it. the story uses an exerpt from HB3200, that wasn't even passed, and the exerpt talks about registering implantable devices (meaning pacemakers and such) for programming tracking and recall notices.
