I did scan his medical records and put them on a USB drive for him. He can print them when he needs a copy, and he does have a laptop/printer. He does not have a scanner. His grandmother has one of those old fax machines with copy capabilities and insisted on making a copy.

I loathe cooked mushrooms with every fiber of my being. My husband and I were visiting his mother earlier this summer and she made us beautiful omelettes with you guessed it...cooked mushrooms inside. My MIL had no idea I didn't like them and I was not about to tell her while she was in the middle of cooking for me. My mother raised me to be a gracious guest and I ate the entire thing along with the mushrooms.

I loathe cooked mushrooms with every fiber of my being. My husband and I were visiting his mother earlier this summer and she made us beautiful omelettes with you guessed it...cooked mushrooms inside. My MIL had no idea I didn't like them and I was not about to tell her while she was in the middle of cooking for me. My mother raised me to be a gracious guest and I ate the entire thing along with the mushrooms.
It didn't kill me and my MIL is none the wiser, it is not a battle I'm willing to have. There are always times when you are given something you may not like and the mature thing to do is to eat as much as you can and thank your host. The nerve of some people really astounds me.

Serious question:
Why is it the federal/state governments responsibility to care and provide for all of the autistic children? I understand the IEP's, etc. for school - but after they age out of school and until they die at 80+ years of age? Why is it assumed that the government (i.e. taxpayer dollars) should pay AND provide homes for their care and NOT the parents?
Isn't this just another 'social services' programs that so many people are so against?
Please help me so the logic or reasoning in this.

Because I don't need it. Just like I don't need magazines, gift wrap or tins of popcorn. It is just crap that takes up space.

And I'm sorry, but I think a lot of times, "autism" is used to excuse really bad behavior and parenting.
Not in all cases, but I think it's a convenient bandaid for a lot of these people.
