Jane, I respect what you decide, but you haven't done anything wrong. This place has boundaries (2Peas doesn't) and provides a release valve and a safe place to vent for a lot of people.

I love how someone who just lost 50 lbs wants to have an "honest" discussion about fat people. Some amazingly self-delusional posts on this thread. And an abnormally large proportion of weight due to glandular or other issues. Someone even referred to fat people as a minority...LOL

I always think of people that get stranded in the wilderness, imprisoned abroad or something like that. they always lose weight. For most people it really is lack of effort. But even people with gland problems would lose weight in extreme conditions. You just need to look at Europe and Asia to see the problem is the American diet and lifestyle. Not glands
As someone who *does* have a glandular and autoimmune disorder that makes it nearly impossible to lose weight, it pisses me off when people say, "Oh I've tried....but I can't, it's stress" or "I am on (insert miniscule dosage of thyroid meds here.)

I'm fully aware of the fact that it isn't healthy, but I have no choice. To NOT GAIN weight I have to eat under 800 calories a day. Last year I managed to lose 20lbs but only through eating 500 calories a day, no carbs, only two servings of lean protein a day. 1 fruit, and some veggies. That's it. I was so happy to have lost the 20lbs, but I was miserable too. It's a horrible disease to have, and I don't wish it on anyone. My doctor has me on all kinds of meds, but nothing helps. I have a friend I met recently who has the same thing, and she had gastric bypass on the 21st. And she is WAY smaller than me. I am scared that it is my future. I hate the idea. I would much rather exercise and diet it off if I could.
I have to say that I agree with Yubon (that's happened a lot lately :O ).
Why is it okay for these women to talk about their weight, diets, plus size clothes, couch to 5K thing, and so on, but it's not okay for someone else to talk about it? Pod hypocrisy.

Shit, get the gastric bypass, lose the fucking weight and then get on with life as a normal sized person. I don't know why fat people put off the inevitable. You can fight food as a fat person or you can fight it a little less as a thin person. Trust me, it feels so much better to be thin than fat.
I'm 5'6 160lb and a size 8. I go to the gym 5x a week. But to lose weight, on top of that I have to eat 1200 calories. Do you know how hard this is? Thus the scale never moves. I eat healthy, kill myself at the gym everyday, but unless I'm willing to eat next to nothing I can not lose weight. I gained 10 lbs this year when I slacked off on the gym, but I'd love to be 20 lbs lighter.

I'm someone who was stick thin till my late thirties when i got the dreaded gland disease and i'm on the minscule amount of thyroid med.lol Yeah, the combo of that and just getting older has slowed the metabolism and made it darned hard to manage weight, but it can be done. Hard work for sure, but it can be done. I mean in other countries they have these diseases, but they don't have the number of whales you see here.

I'm definitely "cute" not "beautiful", but I can do sexy. I always felt stupid doing it until a couple of years ago. Then I literally sat in front of the mirror and developed almost a little "pout". I know it sounds ridiculous, but it's true. I know this girl who has amazing/sexy lips. I don't. But when I do this "pout" thing, I have the lips! LOL! It's like... I kind of push my lips out and put a different look on my face, and a solid stride. Shoulders back. Lips pouted. High heel boots help.

I've lost 25 pounds just but changing what I eat.
I really didn't need to lose 25 pounds, because now I'm at the point where I shouldn't lose anymore. I don't by this I can't lose weight bullshit.

I always think of people that get stranded in the wilderness, imprisoned abroad or something like that. they always lose weight. For most people it really is lack of effort. But even people with gland problems would lose weight in extreme conditions. You just need to look at Europe and Asia to see the problem is the American diet and lifestyle. Not glands
As someone who *does* have a glandular and autoimmune disorder that makes it nearly impossible to lose weight, it pisses me off when people say, "Oh I've tried....but I can't, it's stress" or "I am on (insert miniscule dosage of thyroid meds here.)

I'm fully aware of the fact that it isn't healthy, but I have no choice. To NOT GAIN weight I have to eat under 800 calories a day. Last year I managed to lose 20lbs but only through eating 500 calories a day, no carbs, only two servings of lean protein a day. 1 fruit, and some veggies. That's it. I was so happy to have lost the 20lbs, but I was miserable too. It's a horrible disease to have, and I don't wish it on anyone. My doctor has me on all kinds of meds, but nothing helps. I have a friend I met recently who has the same thing, and she had gastric bypass on the 21st. And she is WAY smaller than me. I am scared that it is my future. I hate the idea. I would much rather exercise and diet it off if I could.

I have to say that I agree with Yubon (that's happened a lot lately :O ).
Why is it okay for these women to talk about their weight, diets, plus size clothes, couch to 5K thing, and so on, but it's not okay for someone else to talk about it? Pod hypocrisy.

I'm 5'6 160lb and a size 8. I go to the gym 5x a week. But to lose weight, on top of that I have to eat 1200 calories. Do you know how hard this is? Thus the scale never moves. I eat healthy, kill myself at the gym everyday, but unless I'm willing to eat next to nothing I can not lose weight. I gained 10 lbs this year when I slacked off on the gym, but I'd love to be 20 lbs lighter.

I'm someone who was stick thin till my late thirties when i got the dreaded gland disease and i'm on the minscule amount of thyroid med.lol Yeah, the combo of that and just getting older has slowed the metabolism and made it darned hard to manage weight, but it can be done. Hard work for sure, but it can be done. I mean in other countries they have these diseases, but they don't have the number of whales you see here.
