I agree about the marriage comment, if you take the time to be in love, communicate, have sex and spend time sharing common interests all the time it's not hard. Sunshine's cool. But some Peas hate her because she's childless by choice, and not at all religious after being raised by a mom who fell in with a hardline evangelical church with really dysfunctional results. She's also a southern liberal, which doesn't sit well with the southern conservative peas.

I agree about the marriage comment, if you take the time to be in love, communicate, have sex and spend time sharing common interests all the time it's not hard. It's when you do these things a few times a year and take no interest in each other then when you do try to come together, hell yeah, it's hard, misunderstandings because of lack of communication, resentments over sex, money, whatever.
I will say being comfortable money wise does make a marriage much easier, you don't have to be rich but worrying how you'll pay the mortgage and buy food doesn't help. I think a lot of Peas are in this boat.
